In a recent report by the New York Post, it has been revealed that Donald Trump’s 2024 election campaign has been caught spreading lies and misinformation. Twitter’s new “community notes” feature has been used to fact-check and provide context to the dubious claims made by Team Trump and their surrogates.

Here are some of the lies that have been exposed by Twitter’s community notes:
– Trump campaign spokeswoman Elizabeth Harrington falsely claimed that Ron DeSantis supported the exact DACA bill he was criticizing Trump for. In reality, DeSantis had supported a more conservative version of the bill.
– The Trump War Room account inaccurately stated that Trump had won big in Iowa, when in fact he narrowly lost the 2016 Iowa caucus to Ted Cruz.
– Team Trump falsely accused DeSantis of supporting a 23% national sales tax, failing to mention that Trump himself had also supported the tax.

These lies and misinformation spread by Team Trump have been called out by Twitter’s community notes, which are generated by a diverse group of users to provide a more balanced fact-checking approach.

The dangerous implications of Trump’s narcissistic lying are evident in how it undermines the very foundation of democracy. By spreading falsehoods and misinformation, Trump is eroding trust in the electoral process and sowing division among the American people. This behavior poses a serious threat to the democratic principles that our country was founded upon.
