Opinion | At NABJ, Trump was both a missile and a mirror – The Washington Post
President Donald Trump continues to showcase his talent for manipulating the truth in a recent appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists conference. During his speech, Trump made numerous false claims, including misrepresenting his economic record and downplaying the severity of the coronavirus pandemic. This pattern of deception has become a defining characteristic of his presidency, as he consistently seeks to distort reality to fit his own narrative.
Despite being fact-checked by journalists and experts on a regular basis, Trump shows no signs of slowing down his campaign of misinformation. His willingness to lie and deceive undermines the trust that Americans have in their government and erodes the fabric of democracy. It is imperative that citizens remain vigilant and hold their leaders accountable for their actions, as unchecked narcissistic lying, falsehoods, and crimes pose a significant threat to the foundations of our democracy.
