President Trump Downplays Iran Conflict as U.S. Launches Airstrikes and Revokes Oil Waiver
President Trump has downplayed the escalating conflict with Iran, describing recent military actions as “not even a war,” but rather “a military operation” and “a denuclearization.” This statement came as the United States carried out airstrikes against more than 80 Iranian targets on Tuesday, following attacks on three commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz that the Pentagon attributed to Iran.
Trump’s comments, made during a meeting with NATO leaders in Ankara, Turkey, sought to minimize the severity of the situation.
